Ceramicized Silicone Rubber Composite Tape – Three-Layer Structure Analysis
Our Ceramicized Silicone Rubber Composite Tape features a precision-engineered three-layer structure, with each layer performing a distinct function and working in synergy to deliver reliable protection in extreme high-temperature environments.
Layer 1: Top Liquid Ceramic Silicone
As the primary functional layer directly exposed to heat or flame, a specially formulated liquid ceramicizable silicone rubber is uniformly coated onto the glass fiber fabric via precision coating technology. At room temperature, this layer offers excellent elasticity and flexibility for easy wrapping. When exposed to high temperatures (≥550°C), it rapidly sinters into a dense ceramic shell, effectively blocking flame and heat transfer inward.
Layer 2: Middle Fiberglass Cloth
Acting as the reinforcing backbone, a high-strength alkali-free woven fiberglass fabric provides outstanding tensile strength and dimensional stability. Under extreme heat, the fiberglass maintains structural integrity, preventing tearing or deformation – while delivering superior mechanical strength and durability to the composite tape.
Layer 3: Bottom Liquid Ceramic Silicone
Made of the same material as the top layer, this bottom coating is uniformly applied to the reverse side of the fiberglass fabric. It not only enhances overall fireproofing and thermal insulation but also serves as a secondary protective barrier. Additionally, it ensures close contact with the substrate surface during wrapping, minimizing heat penetration through gaps. The double-sided ceramic silicone design guarantees that no matter which side faces the flame, a ceramic layer forms instantly – offering “dual-sided protection with no direction limitation.”
These three layers are integrally formed through a continuous coating process, ensuring strong interlayer bonding without bubbles or delamination. The tape combines flexible application, high-temperature ceramicization, and robust reinforcement – making it an ideal solution for fire protection, thermal insulation, and electrical shielding in extreme thermal environments.
