Our Dual-Component Acoustic Cotton is a high-performance sound-absorbing material, manufactured through a melt-blown process using polypropylene (PP) microfibers and polyester (PET) fibers. Its unique dual-component structure creates a three-dimensional porous network that effectively converts sound energy into heat through fiber vibration, delivering broadband acoustic absorption across a wide frequency range.

Lightweight, flexible, and easy to cut and install, it adapts seamlessly to various irregular surfaces. It also offers excellent moisture and mildew resistance, maintaining its shape and performance over time. Compliant with T/ZZB 1740-2020 industry standards and available with UL94 V-0 flame retardancy, it ensures both safety and reliability.

Dual-Component Acoustic Cotton – Three-Layer Composite Structure for Scientific Noise Reduction

Our Dual-Component Acoustic Cotton features a precision-engineered three-layer composite structure, consisting of polypropylene (PP) microfiber, polyester (PET) fiber, and a nonwoven cover layer. Each component is carefully designed to work in synergy for optimal acoustic performance and long-term reliability.

Layer 1: Polypropylene (PP) Microfiber Layer
As the core functional layer for sound absorption, the ultra-fine PP fibers create a vast network of micron-sized pores. When sound waves penetrate the material, the fibers vibrate in response to acoustic pressure, converting sound energy into heat through friction. The finer the fibers and the denser the pores, the higher the absorption efficiency – this is the key to the tape’s broadband noise reduction capability.

Layer 2: Polyester (PET) Fiber Skeleton Layer
The coarse or hollow-spiral PET fibers act as the material’s structural backbone, providing excellent loft, resilience, and compressive strength. They ensure the material maintains its shape and performance over long-term use without collapsing or deforming. Additionally, the PET fibers enhance tensile strength, making the material easy to cut and install.

Layer 3: Nonwoven Cover Layer
The nonwoven fabric covers the surface of the acoustic cotton, protecting the fiber structure and preventing dust shedding. Its breathable design allows sound waves to penetrate freely while enhancing surface strength and abrasion resistance, ensuring greater durability during installation and service.

Three layers, each with a distinct role – PP absorbs sound, PET provides support, and the nonwoven cover ensures protection.
